Job Title: Buyer Planner

Location: Boston, MA 

Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Buyer Planner to manage procurement and production planning activities supporting advanced manufacturing operations in a regulated industry.

This role oversees the full procurement lifecycle—from sourcing and negotiation through material planning and supplier management—while ensuring compliance with industry standards and program requirements.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has strong analytical and communication skills.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase electronic components, make-to-spec parts, and materials for complex engineering and production programs.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier contracts to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

  • Develop and maintain material requirements plans aligned with production schedules and forecasts.

  • Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery; proactively mitigate supply chain risks.

  • Manage vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs and supplier performance metrics.

  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, certifications, and compliance records.

  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with export control and quality system requirements (ITAR/EAR, AS9100).

  • Generate and maintain dashboards, spreadsheets, and procurement reports using advanced Excel tools.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to support program success.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of procurement and/or planning experience in aerospace, defense, space, or high-tech manufacturing industries.

  • Experience with vendor-managed inventory (VMI), subcontractor management, and long lead-time items.

  • Working knowledge of export control regulations (ITAR/EAR) and industry standards such as AS9100.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups, dashboards).

  • Excellent negotiation, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • U.S. citizenship required due to regulatory compliance.
