Overview
A growing, mission-driven healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead financial operations for its PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Position Summary
Reporting to the PACE Finance Director, the Accounting Manager oversees the financial performance and reporting of the PACE program. This includes managing accounting functions, enrollment processes, budget planning, audit preparation, and supervising a remote accounting and enrollment team. The Accounting Manager will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, support strategic growth, and contribute to the success of a value-based care model.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Develop financial performance metrics and reports for internal use and external stakeholders
Oversee Medicare Part D Bid and Medi-Cal RDT annual rate-setting reports
Submit financial reports to DHCS, CMS, and other regulatory bodies
Assist in budgeting processes including enrollment, FTEs, revenue, and expenses
Ensure readiness for financial and program audits
Approve payment batches, validate GL coding, and manage vendor invoices
Manage enrollment and disenrollment processes with DHCS and CMS
Collaborate closely with billing and pharmacy teams (including 340B program oversight)
Lead and coach the accounting and enrollment team, including remote staff
Maintain and improve accounting processes and system workflows
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience in the healthcare industry (required)
At least 2 years of supervisory experience (required)
Prior experience with PACE programs (strongly preferred)
Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to healthcare finance
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and accounting software
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High degree of confidentiality and professional discretion
Compensation and Benefits
Annual Salary Range: $113,700 – $172,800 (based on experience, education, and qualifications)
