About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial oversight and operational accounting across our home care and health care operations. This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for driving financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, improving process efficiency, and partnering directly with operations leadership to enable profitable growth.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and tactical, equally comfortable advising the CEO on financial performance and rolling up their sleeves on day-to-day accounting. This position reports directly to the CEO.
What You'll Do
Financial Reporting & Performance Management
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across all operations
- Lead month-end close, including account reconciliations and intercompany settlements
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and operational dashboards
- Maintain key reporting metrics including A/R aging and 13-week cash forecasts
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including CA Wage Orders 15 & 22
- Identify, assess, and remediate internal control gaps across field operations
- Standardize accounting practices and procedures for accuracy and consistency
- Oversee controls related to payroll, invoicing, cash handling, and authorization levels
- Support performance evaluations and reinforce a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Systems, Audit & Strategic Projects
- Lead or support ERP implementations and system integrations within field operations
- Prepare audit schedules and support tax and sales tax reporting requirements
- Serve as the accounting subject matter expert and partner with Operations on performance optimization initiatives

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of relevant accounting or financial leadership experience
- Expert understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with major ERP systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive outcomes independently
- Upbeat personality with a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset
CPA PreferredHome / Health Care Industry Experience Preferred
Compensation
$130,000—$175,000
Salary depends on experience and industry background. Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
