Location: Westborough, MA (on-site) | Travel to Carlsbad, CA as needed
Compensation: Up to $115,000
Position Summary
This role serves as the HR leader for assigned areas and facilities, supporting approximately 40 employees across Westborough, MA and Carlsbad, CA. The HRBP is responsible for the full spectrum of HR administration — including hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, and staffing strategy. The role champions policy awareness and legal compliance, handles employee relations for assigned client groups, and partners with leadership to drive company-wide initiatives. This individual acts as a trusted liaison between employees and management, fosters a positive and open workplace culture, and contributes to the creation and delivery of employee training, development, and engagement activities.
Essential Responsibilities
- HR Administration, Benefits, Compliance & Employee Relations
- Proactively stays current on changes in state and federal employment laws and regulations, ensuring timely communication to the HR team, management, and employees as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between employees and management, keeping leadership informed of employee concerns and issues. Mentors and counsels managers on employee relations and performance matters, ensuring policies are applied fairly and consistently. Addresses employee benefits questions promptly and assists with open enrollment activities. Advises employees and managers on all HR policies and maintains a supportive, positive culture throughout the organization.
- Training & Organizational Development
- Oversees the annual review and goal-setting process for assigned areas. Partners with managers to develop SMART goals that support employee growth and strengthen the organization. Drives and monitors organizational development activities, identifying departmental strengths and development opportunities. Collaborates with the VP of HR to build training programs and succession plans that deepen current staff capabilities and support internal advancement. Delivers training on HR topics, leadership development, and management best practices.
- Research & Analysis
- Gathers and analyzes data to support non-routine HR projects, making recommendations on policy, procedural, or administrative changes as needed. Participates in salary surveys and provides workforce reports and analyses. Tracks and analyzes key HR metrics and initiative progress. Actively improves and automates processes, identifies HRIS enhancements, and trains managers and employees on Paycom.
- Recruitment & New Hire Activities
- Partners with the VP of HR to establish recruiting and retention strategies that ensure appropriate staffing levels for assigned locations. Collaborates with hiring managers to develop sourcing and interviewing plans for each open position. Efficiently fills open roles and conducts regular follow-up with managers on recruiting effectiveness. Builds proactive candidate pipelines and networks, and researches new sources for both active and passive recruiting. Posts openings across appropriate channels including professional organizations and relevant platforms.
Qualifications
- Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience Minimum 5 years of exempt-level HR experience. At least 2 years with demonstrated expertise in performance management, organizational development, training, and employee relations. Prior experience in a high-tech or production environment is a plus.
- Skills & Knowledge Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in presenting and facilitating training. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally at all organizational levels. Working knowledge of federal and state employment law (Wage & Hour, LOAs, Workers' Comp, Recruiting, etc.). Familiarity with Affirmative Action Plans and compliance activities. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Prior HRIS experience required.
- Certifications PHR or SPHR a plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This is primarily a sedentary, office-based role. Duties involve routine use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier). Must be able to communicate clearly in spoken and written form, hear at normal conversational levels, and perform standard computer and desk-based tasks. Noise level is generally moderate. Occasional travel to Carlsbad, CA required.
