The Role
This is a hands-on coordination role at a manufacturer, not a brand-side or software product role. You’ll manage brand customers’ new product projects from the first inquiry through the first production run. You’ll keep formulas, samples, packaging components, artwork, testing, and timelines on track across Sales, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Purchasing, Planning, and Production. You’ll typically manage many customer projects at once, and you’ll report to the Director of Project Management.
What You’ll Do
- Manage customer projects from brief and quote through samples, testing, customer approval, and the first production run.
- Build and maintain BOMs and support cost analysis and quotes with Sales and Finance.
- Coordinate packaging components, suppliers, lead times, and MOQs so components arrive in time for production.
- Manage artwork and proof approvals with customers and internal teams.
- Coordinate stability, preservative efficacy, and claims testing with R&D and Quality, and support FDA cosmetic and OTC labeling requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers and Sales on project status, and flag risks or delays early.
- Keep specifications, BOMs, and project documentation accurate in the ERP system.
- Spend some time on the production floor supporting pilot runs and first productions.
What You Bring (Required)
- At least 2 years of experience at a contract manufacturer, private-label manufacturer, or co-packer in personal care, cosmetics, household products, or a similar consumer packaged goods category
- Hands-on experience coordinating customer projects through samples, approvals, and production
- Experience working with BOMs, packaging components, and supplier lead times
- Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP system (Business Central, SAP, NetSuite, or similar)
- Comfort managing many projects at once in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work fully onsite, first shift
Nice to Have
- Experience with wipes, nonwovens, or flexible packaging (pouches, flow wrap, film)
- Knowledge of stability testing, claims testing, or FDA cosmetic and OTC requirements
- Salesforce experience
- A bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, packaging, supply chain, or a related field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Why You’ll Love It
- You’ll join a growing manufacturer with real opportunities to advance as the business expands.
- The culture is family-oriented, with accessible leadership, employee events, and recognition programs.
- You’ll see the products you work on in major retailers across the country.
