ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE
The Compensation Analyst is focused on maintaining the organization’s Base Pay Structure. This is accomplished by ensuring each job is accurately matched to available survey data. The Compensation Analyst will become familiar with their assigned job groups and work closely with the HR Team and Hiring Managers to review job matches, pay grade assignments, pay equity analysis, and more. The Compensation Analyst will participate in Compensation Surveys to ensure that the benchmark library has various sources to use for job matches. The Compensation Analyst will also collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team on job offers, appropriate ranges for offers, and training for the Talent Acquisition Team and Hiring Managers. Additionally, the Compensation Analyst will be a central player in developing and maintaining job descriptions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide assistance with job offers, including internal and external offer letters.
- Ensure that each job has an up-to-date job description on file for comparison with benchmark survey sources to tie to market data.
- Use market data to update and maintain the Base Pay Structure for all roles within the organization.
- Work with external sources to obtain salary survey data for use in the Compensation Tool, which may include participating in surveys.
- Provide compensation research and analysis, offering recommendations to resolve issues such as pay compression, internal equity, new job creation, etc.
- Use data from multiple systems to provide Impact Analysis for compensation recommendations, considering new benchmark data and/or legislative changes, such as changing minimum wages.
- Manage large data sets to perform equity reviews and develop communications for leaders and impacted employees to ensure awareness of processes and market rationale.
- Develop user-friendly tools and training to ensure alignment between compensation data, offer letters, and internal equity.
- Respond to Manager requests for Department Reviews.
- Collaborate closely with the HRIS team on the creation and maintenance of jobs and pay grades within the HRIS system.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience and skills in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Proven experience analyzing large data sets, presenting to key decision-makers, and implementing recommendations is required.
- Experience working in a high-paced organization with a variety of job titles (400+) is preferred.
- Certifications, such as HRIS-related, CCP, or SHRM certification, are preferred.
- Experience with compensation surveys and market data analysis is required.
- Experience with Payfactors and/or Payscale is preferred.
- Experience with UKG Ultipro is preferred.
- Experience with SharePoint is preferred.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong analytical skills and math aptitude required.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charts, and working with large data sets required.
- Knowledge of compensation-related laws and best practices.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Salary Range: $95,000 to $136,000 annually, depending on experience/education and additional qualifications.
