Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Temporary HR Compliance Assistant to support our Human Resources team with a critical I-9 audit and employee file review project. This role will focus on ensuring all active employee records are compliant with federal employment eligibility requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with Form I-9s, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with accuracy and discretion.

This is a temporary assignment expected to last 1–2 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

I-9 Audit & Compliance Support

  • Review employee personnel files to ensure all active employees have a properly completed and compliant Form I-9

  • Identify missing, incomplete, or incorrect documentation and coordinate corrections as needed

  • Assist with E-Verify submissions and ensure proper documentation is maintained

  • Ensure compliance with federal I-9 and employment eligibility verification requirements

File Management & Documentation

  • Scan paper I-9 forms and related documentation into digital personnel files

  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical employee records

  • Ensure all files are complete, accurate, and properly stored

HR Administrative Support

  • Assist with general HR administrative tasks related to compliance and employee records

  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information

  • Support the HR team with additional audit-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of Human Resources or HR administrative experience

  • Hands-on experience reviewing and completing Form I-9 documentation required

  • Experience with E-Verify strongly preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies

  • Excellent organizational and file management skills

  • Strong computer skills, including scanning, digital file management, and working within HR systems

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Assignment Details

  • Temporary assignment: 1–2 months, with potential for extension

  • Project-based role focused on HR compliance and file audit support

  • Immediate need for assistance
