Senior Manager/Supervisor

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to join our finance leadership team. This high-impact role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will lead all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, SEC compliance, SOX/internal controls, and equity administration.

This is a key leadership position with visibility across the organization. You will work cross-functionally with Legal, HR, R&D, and FP&A, and be instrumental in scaling our accounting infrastructure, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company’s full-cycle accounting operations, monthly/quarterly close processes, and financial statement preparation

  • Own SEC reporting, including the preparation and filing of 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and other required filings

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory standards

  • Oversee technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards

  • Manage and administer equity programs and stock-based compensation accounting

  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, HR, R&D, and FP&A to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with strategic goals

  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of growth, transparency, and collaboration

  • Drive process improvements and implement scalable accounting systems and workflows

  • Support audit and tax processes, acting as the primary contact for external auditors


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or MBA a plus)

  • CPA required

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in public accounting

  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance

  • Experience working in a public company environment; life sciences or biotech industry background strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership style centered on collaboration, coaching, and team development

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., NetSuite, Workiva, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting topics for non-financial stakeholders
