Traveling Superintendent
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations and ensure successful project execution from start to finish. This role is responsible for managing field activities, supervising subcontractors, maintaining safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can effectively collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients. Projects are located nationwide, with consistent work across Southern California and throughout the western United States.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all field operations, subcontractors, and suppliers in alignment with project schedules and budget requirements
Develop and communicate construction sequencing to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion
Partner closely with the project management team to support project execution and resolve field issues
Lead daily on-site operations while maintaining productivity, safety, and quality standards
Conduct regular jobsite safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures
Maintain project safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure work meets contractual and regulatory standards
Manage project closeout activities including punch lists, inspections, sign-offs, and as-built documentation
Review construction documents and perform constructability reviews
Prepare and maintain RFIs, review submittals, track material deliveries, and document daily field activity
Maintain accurate daily logs and communicate project progress and challenges to leadership
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years of commercial construction experience; ground-up construction experience required
Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings and specifications
Proven experience supervising subcontractors and managing field personnel
Ability and willingness to travel nationwide for the duration of assigned projects
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong leadership presence and ability to build productive working relationships
Professional communication skills with the ability to interact with executive-level clients
Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
CPR / First Aid Certification required
OSHA 30-Hour Certification required
