Employee Benefits Manager

Are you a strategic and hands-on benefits leader with a passion for delivering an exceptional employee experience? We’re hiring a Benefits Manager to oversee U.S. and international benefits programs at a high-performing, growth-oriented organization. In this key role, you’ll manage end-to-end benefits operations, vendor relationships, compliance, and employee education while helping shape the overall strategy as the company scales.

Location:

You’ll be required to work onsite at our San Diego office three (3) days per week—Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This hybrid schedule supports collaboration and connection while offering flexibility the rest of the week.

Responsibilities:

Strategy, Operations & Vendor Management

  • Lead the strategic design, implementation, and management of global benefit programs, including U.S. Health & Welfare, 401(k), and UK/Netherlands pensions
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure delivery of high-quality service and support
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for employee benefits, addressing escalated issues and supporting team members across locations
  • Deliver benefits communications and education through multiple channels, including Open Enrollment, new hire onboarding, and intranet updates
  • Partner with internal teams on payroll accuracy, benefits deductions, and compliance reporting
  • Identify and implement process improvements and technology optimizations
  • Stay current on regulatory changes (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.) and ensure ongoing compliance across all jurisdictions

Compliance & Reporting

  • Lead annual benefits enrollment, including testing, documentation, and system configuration
  • Prepare and submit required government filings and compliance documents
  • Monitor and analyze benefit utilization data to inform decision-making
  • Maintain audit-ready records and documentation for all benefit programs

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits
  • CEBS certification strongly preferred (or willingness to complete)
  • Workday experience required
  • Deep knowledge of 401(k), U.S. Health & Welfare, international pension schemes, and relevant regulations
  • Strong vendor management, project management, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver clear employee communications and training
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and present actionable insights

Benefits & Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 – $165,000. This role includes a discretionary annual bonus and discretionary stock award. We offer a competitive benefits package, including:
